Last chat we shared examples of aerobic exercise and the importance of warming up prior to any/and all exercise. This enables our muscles to stretch and loosen up prior to any strain that we may place on them during the act/s of exercise or play. This may be as simple as taking a walk before a pickup game of one on one in basketball.
Please explain and give examples of 'anaerobic' exercise. Are you involved in this form of exercise? Please share.

Yoga is a good anaerobic exercise because it stretches your muscles and does not put any high impact on your joints.
ReplyDeleteAnaerobic exercise is a short activity that does not require much oxygen. Anaerobic exercises help athlete's perform better because of their improvement in speed, strength, and endurance. These activites may include push-ups, curl-ups, and even short sprints. I occasionally perform these exercises as warm-ups before an aerobic exercise.
ReplyDeleteAn example of anaerobic exercises is weight training. It is hard to practice this kind of exercise, it calls for a lot of perservence and determination. I do exercise, just not every single day.
ReplyDeleteLately, I have been performing daily exercises of sit-ups, push-ups, and various activities. To warm up, I complete about two minutes worth of jumping jacks.
ReplyDeleteAnaerobic exercise means "exercise without oxygen." Anaerobic exercise is short but intense, such as heavy weight lifting, jump-roping and sprinting. If while exercising your need for oxygen is greater than your supply of oxygen, it is Anaerobic exercise.
ReplyDeleteDuring anaerobic exercise, the body's need for oxygen is greater than the supply, so the body relies solely of the breakdown of glucose to provide energy. Therefore, anaerobic exercises can only be done for a short time, such as sprinting, pushups, or any strenuous activity lasting for a short time.
ReplyDeleteAnaerobic exercise consists of things such as lifting weights, sit ups, jump rope, and yoga. Usually I do things like sit ups and yoga for anaerobic exercise.
ReplyDelete"Anaerobic" comes from Greek root words meaning "without air." Thus, anaerobic exercise is any exercise that exceeds oxygen's ability to supply energy for that activity. To continue functioning, the muscles create lactic acid to produce ATP, an energy source the body's cells use. Examples of anaerobic exercises are sprinting and heavy weight lifting. Although I mostly walk for my PE class, I also occasionally sprint.
ReplyDeleteAnaerobic exercise is any exercise that doesn't involve your respiratory system supplying the energy needed. So running or any cardio is out of the question, but anything that doesn't leave you out of breath is probably anaerobic. My favorite and most challenging anaerobic activity is rock climbing. I go probably three times a week to a local gym.
ReplyDeleteA few examples of anaerobic exercise would be sit ups, push ups and lifting weights. I have started weight training at the gym, as well as working at home with light weights.
ReplyDeleteI believe anaerobic to be short bursts of strength training. While I don't do weight training, I do a lot of lifting with a lot of chores that I think helps.
ReplyDeleteAnaerobic is exercise that does not require a lot of oxygen. It is running, jogging in place, swimming, resistence training. Athletes do this to train for certain sports. I do treadmill, stairclimber and resistence weights. I also do Wii fit jogging, like jogging in place.
