I have thoroughly enjoyed writing and reading this blog with you!
The summer is 12 weeks long. As I stated in the last blog, along with continuing my cardio kick-boxing class and walking a few miles a week, I am going to push and stretch myself into tackling another type of exercise class, a zumba class! It should be fun, if not hilarious!
I would like to also encourage you to do the same and have you stretch yourselves. Try a new exercise routine or class. Something that is new to you, as zumba is to me! Even if it is something as simple as walking to your friend's home as opposed to driving there.........Join the YMCA, a club sport or make up your own routine and get your friends and family involved! Stretch yourself, expand your horizons! I look forward to hearing all about it!
Have a safe summer and stay active!

Thanks Mrs. D. I will try and follow your advice throughout the summer. Hopefully I will find a new and fun activity that I like. Hope you enjoy your zumba classes and have a good summer break.
ReplyDeleteZumba sounds really interesting. over summer im going to not only but on more body mass, i plan to start doing the spin classes at the gym 3 twice a week. This should improve my cardio and help me stay in shape for tryouts and next hockey season.
ReplyDeleteMy friend has a Zumba exercise video that she uses. She says that it really helps her to tone her body. There is also one for the Wii, so my mom and I would like to buy it. I just thought I would share this. Have a great summer!
ReplyDeleteZumba sounds really in interesting! A lot of people in my town here play volleyball and I've never really played but I am going to give it a try this summmer!
ReplyDeleteYou will love zumba. It isn't hard, but it's more of a repetition, constantly working certain muscles. I will definitely take heart to all of your advice. This will be a great summer!
ReplyDeleteZumba is a fun class! I've taken it a few times myself. My new thing is belly dancing, that's really fun!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great discussions this year. It really gave me a lot to think about, and good ideas for staying physically fit. I plan to continue going to the gym and staying active. I hope you have a great summer!
ReplyDeleteI'll keep your advice in mind over the summer. It's easy for me to be lazy and do nothing instead I'll try and stay active.

Sounds interesting! If I ever get involved in organized Physical education, I think I'd prefer it to be some sort of self-defense class.
Thanks Mrs.D for your advice. Through out the summer I tend to pull away from all the physical activities but instead i'll try to be active.
ReplyDelete@ Mrs. D. Very good advice! It is always interesting to try out a new activity. This summer I think I am going to learn how to ride a bike. Some may think it strange that a 17-year old doesn't know how to ride a bicycle, bu the truth is, I don't. The reason is mostly because I had been too busy with other things growing up that I didn't have time to ride one and also because they can be pretty expensive. However, now that I'm older, I can use my dad's bike, so I really want to learn this summer! It could become part of a new exercise routine in the coming year perhaps. Have a great summer everyone!
ReplyDeleteI don't think i have ever heard of Zumba but it sounds like a fun dance class. Over the summer i will be very active, i don't drive yet so there will a ton of walking and bike riding for me.
ReplyDeleteI found a YouTube video on zumba. It looks like a great way to get in lots of exercise.
ReplyDeleteI sometimes prefer not to take a class for PE hours because I get tired of the sport after several weeks. My favorite way to get in PE is to play in our backyard with my brothers. One of my favorite games is soccer, only our soccer ball is somewhat deflated. Therefore, I have named this sport deflated soccer:)
I hope that I find a new activity this summer that I'll enjoy! I've been wanting to ride my bike more, so that may be a possibility. Thank you so much for the great discussions this year!
