January week 2

Willpower!
I'm not sure if willpower is innate, do we all have it, or do most of us have to work on it?!
In many areas I'm very disciplined and have willpower, but put chocolate or pasta in front of me and all bets are off! Willpower, in the area of choosing the right foods to keep our bodies healthy and well nourished, and exercising, is so important to a healthy mind and body lifestyle. Our minds are so powerful that our bodies will respond if we tell it what to do consistently. I know I often have to do something blatant to keep my willpower in check. (ie. if I want to lose a few pounds I'll hang the clothing item I want to fit better in a place that I see as I'm walking to the refrigerator!)
Think about it and decide what you need to do to keep your willpower and discipline in high gear.
Share your ideas as we can all learn from each other.

  1. I don't have any major food cravings. Therefore, it is easier for me to maintain my willpower when it comes to food. But I think one way for people to control their willpower is to have motivation. If you are motivated to accomplish something, such as losing weight to fit into new clothes, it will be much easier to have stronger willpower and discipline against overeating.

  2. Willpower and discipline are very hard for me. I have found that establishing routines helps me in these areas. For example: I have a set time for PE in my weekly school schedule so I know I will have to do exercising then and not just when I feel like it.

  3. I don't have too difficult of a time when it comes to maintaining my willpower with food. I only crave certain foods once in a great while. But whenever I have a set goal, I have some type of motivator. I tend to use some type of clothing (like you haha) that will motivate me to stick to healthy eating.

  4. The only food weekness I have is ICECREAM. My solution is to keep it out of the house and asking my mom to not buy it at the store. With anything else I have complete controleover myself.

  5. I always get a bad sweet tooth around holidays. To get rid of it, I eat a small square of dark chocolate after meals. It hardly has any calories, and it works!!

  6. Willpower is very hard for me. My weekness is chocolate. When ever I am out shopping I always buy a lot of chocolate and when I get home I have to share with my sister and brother because my mom says that all that chocolate is very bad for my health. Sometimes I will get mad because I want all the chocolate to myself but now when I am out shopping, I don't buy anymore chocolate. I have learned that it is for the better.
